“If leaving the house for a weekend, should I turn off the water? If not, should I turn off the electric hot water heater? What about draining the hot water heater?” -David C.

The answer from Chris Corley of Corley Plumbing Air Electric:

“If there are no existing problems, you don’t need to turn anything off.” But if you’re uncertain, there are a couple of things you can do.
