The Junior League of Greenville’s annual Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI) for charity kicks off next week, September 16-20. During LBDI, Junior League members will wear the same LBD for five days straight to symbolize the effects that socioeconomic limitations can have on members of our community.
Participants use the opportunity to raise awareness (in-person and on social media) of the Junior League of Greenville (JLG)’s mission + those less fortunate in the Upstate. Last year, the JLG raised ~$20,000 through LBDI. Since 1929, JLG has supported 300 nonprofits and contributed $3 million to the Greenville community.
In honor of this year’s campaign, we’ve compiled five of the most iconic LBDs of all time – click the button below to see them and draw inspiration for your own participation in LBDI next week (everyone’s welcome to get involved – email Katie Williams to participate). You can also donate here. Ⓟ

It doesn’t get much more iconic than Hepburn’s Givenchy LBD in Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961).
3. Stevie Nicks

Onstage with Fleetwood Mac in 1975, Nicks’ signature black hat + flowy black dress look is bohemian, witchy perfection.
