Warmer weather really reminds us how much we have missed spending time outside – the fresh air, the views, the peace, and quiet.
Whether you’re hitting up the trail for exercise or taking the grandkids on a fishing trip, 15 miles of trails at Hartness leave plenty of room for adventures.
Go on a scavenger hunt for trees: Look for the Sycamore tree that descended from those on George Washington’s estate + was a gift to the Hartness family. Or just try to identify as many trees as you can – this is especially great if kids are coming along.
Find a new hobby: Pick up a paddleboard, kayak in one of the ponds, or fish from the edge. (Note: no swimming in the ponds – it disturbs the fish 🐠)
Have a picnic at the pecan orchard or by the lake: Any meal outside is considered a picnic – whether you pull together a charcuterie board or order a pizza and sit on a blanket, these spots have prime views.
Break a sweat: Jog or bike through protected wetlands areas or just take the dog for a stroll through the woods. 🏃🏽
Bird watch (or find other wildlife): A quick walk across the lawn will show anyone how well the birds are taken of in this community – plenty of food and water brings all kinds of species to the area. Not into birdwatching? There are plenty of turtles, beavers + fish to view, too.
Just a note that these trails are for Hartness residents only, which is even more reason to learn more about this amazing community.
P.S. Spring Reveal Weekend at Hartness is coming up soon. Check out a designer-furnished model residence during happy hour from 3 – 7 p.m. on April 27, or stop by their Open House on April 28 from 12 – 5 p.m.
