According to the chef, steak is the name of the game. Filet, dry-aged, NY strip, it’s your adventure, but the chef recommends the Prime Bone-in Ribeye Steak (aka the “Cowboy steak” shown above).

But first, our team took our taste buds on a little trip to the coast and dove headfirst into the Oysters Rockefeller (bacon, spinach, parm).

Then came the main course, the coveted Prime bone-in ribeye steak, cooked to medium-rare perfection. Oh and we asked the executive chef about preferred wine pairing with your steak; he suggests one of the following options:

  • Chappellet Mountain Cuvee Napa Valley | $66
  • Mt. Brave Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 | $132
  • Shafer Hillside Select | $345

#ProTip - Red wine should soften the fat found in the steak, releasing more flavor in the meat; Taking your taste buds from surfin’ to turfin’.

But hey, whether you’re surfin’ or turfin’, you’re not going to go wrong here.

#KnowThis

Saltwater Kitchen is Rick Erwin’s latest dining concept, located in Haywood Mall (right by the Macy’s entrance facing Haywood Rd.). If you didn’t make it to the beach this summer, no worries. Saltwater Kitchen was built to feel like you stepped away from Greenville and into the cabin of a 150ft yacht right off the shores of Charleston. We highly recommend snagging a seat on the covered patio. You may even forget the ocean is 200 miles away.

Ever had a lobster roll? Well, now’s the time because you’re not getting a butter one than the Almost Famous Lobster Roll south of the Mason Dixon (see what I did there? 😉). You can keep the coastal vibes flowing by ordering a Saltwater Breeze (rum, pineapple juice, grapefruit juice + grapefruit bitters). If it’s a work-day lunch, just ask the bartender to hold the rum.
