Calling all soccer fans: The biggest soccer event in the world starts this weekend. To celebrate, the Greenville Triumph is hosting multiple watch parties throughout the tournament. Team USA’s first match is set for Mon., Nov. 21 against Wales. ⚽

Fun fact: Greenville has an American Outlaws chapter (aka the official supporter group for US National Teams). Here’s what to know before kick-off.

World Cup 2022 fast facts 🥅

  • When: Sun., Nov. 20-Sun., Dec. 18, 2022
  • Where: Eight venues across Qatar: Al Bayt Stadium, Khalifa International Stadium, Al Thumama Stadium, Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, Lusail Stadium, Stadium 974, Education City Stadium and Al Janoub Stadium
  • Games: 64
  • Teams: 32 countries qualified to compete
  • Group play: For the first round, Team USA will be competing against England, IR Iran, and Wales in Group B

USA vs. England

  • When: Fri., Nov. 25, 2 p.m.
  • Where: Growler Haus, 12 Lois Ave.

Germany vs. Spain

  • When: Sun., Nov. 27, 2 p.m.
  • Where: Hampton Station, 1320 Hampton Ave.
  • Bonus: The team will be raffling off two Hisense TVs.

Round of 16 match

  • When: Sat., Dec. 3: early opening at 10 a.m. for the early for the USA-Netherlands match; 2 p.m. watch party for the Argentina-Australia match

Quarterfinal match
