Last month, we wrote about Greenville Technical College’s new accelerated degree program, which allows students to receive an associate degree in one year. The college certainly isn’t slowing down, as they’re offering another exciting new program this Fall: the state’s first Applied Baccalaureate program at a technical college.

What it is: This new program is specifically geared towards preparing graduates for technical + managerial leadership positions in the world of manufacturing, with a project-based curriculum designed to be engaging + hands-on.

Where it started: Some of the area’s strongest manufacturing employers – like Michelin, GE + Bosch Rexroth – voiced the need for a program like this one, and legislation signed in 2018 allowed Greenville Tech to move forward with it.

Who it’s for: The Applied Baccalaureate program is a great opportunity for those seeking a career in the advanced manufacturing sector or veteran employees wanting career advancement. Applicants must have an associate degree in one of the following:

  • Mechatronics Technology (formerly Industrial Maintenance Technology)
  • Machine Tool Technology
  • Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Programming and Operations
  • Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Electronics Engineering Technology

To learn more, make plans to attend one of the open houses on July 23 or August 7 at the Gene Haas Center for Manufacturing Innovation (CMI Campus). 🎓
