You know what they say...1, 2, 3 weeks until the Greenville Drive plays at the old ball game. (Or something like that).

It’s been 20+ months since the boys have stepped out onto the diamond, but on Tues., May 4 (we’ll refrain from making any Star Wars references) the Greenville Drive will face the Bowling Green Hot Rods at home for their first game of the 2021 season.

This “right of spring” that many of us have taken for granted in the past will still be full of hot dogs, beer, and everyone’s favorite mascot, Reedy, but there will be some new protocols to help keep fans safe as they enjoy the game. Note: These protocols are subject to change throughout the season.

Games will be limited to 50% capacity (or ~2,500 fans)

Fans should be wearing masks at all times unless actively eating or drinking in their seats

Ushers will be seating attendees to help promote social distancing

Fans are encouraged to utilize digital tickets

There’s a brand new in-seat ordering app (sEATz) that you can use to get your favorite ballpark eats delivered right to your seat

This will also be a reboot of the Drive’s 15th Anniversary season, so you can look forward to a few special events and surprises. In addition, crews are hard at work on the Jackson Way project that will strive to transform Field Street and other surrounding areas into an entertainment district to further mimic Fenway Park in Boston.

If you’re as excited for the season as we are, be sure to attend the Greenville Drive’s “Baseball is Back Community Fan Fest” at Fluor Field this Sat., April 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. You will be able to taste some new options from the concession stand, play a little game of catch on the field (if you bring your own ball + glove), and learn more about ticket options for the season. If you’re interested in attending, RSVP here.
