Furman Football season starts up on Saturday, September 2nd and we can’t wait to see the purple and white faceoff against the black and gold of Wofford. The rivalry has gone back decades and we can’t wait to see who comes out on top.

But how will the season play out for The ‘Dins with the new head coach, Clay Hendrix? Coming from a 4-7 record in 2015 and a 3-8 record in 2016 Coach Hendrix is looking forward to the upcoming season. The former Paladin offensive guard coached for 10 years as the assistant coach at Air Force before accepting the head position with the Furman Football Team. “We are ready to get started,” says Hendrix after the first inaugural first practice.

The paladins have 12 returning starters on this year’s team. Including, senior P.J. Blazejowski, senior ALL-SoCon center Matthew Schmidt, and senior preseason All-conference running back Antonio Wilcox. Defense has returning athletes such as redshirt junior all-conference nose guard Jaylan Reid, outside linebacker Joe Farrar, and safety Aaquil Annoor on the field.

The Paladins newest additions feature 14 defensive players, four offensive, and a specialist. Among these additions are linebackers Adrian Hope, Tyree Toliver, Landon Lawrence, Parker Stokes, and running back Devin Wynn. Click here to see their stats.
