You did it! World’s best cup of coffee hot chocolate. City Editor Danielle here. During the cold snap — which seems to have returned — when my heat happened to be broken at home, I set out on a mission to find the best cup of hot chocolate in Greenville.
Out of all the cups I tried — and I tried a lot — these were my favorites:
1/8This was more like drinking melted chocolate, and the best part? Everything from the chocolate to the massive marshmallow was made in-house by LaRue’s chocolatier. Photo by GVLtoday
2/8Located near Capri’s on Pelham Road, this is an Italian-imported hot chocolate, served at a family-owned Italian bakery run by Luigi and his mother — who stocks the pastry cases with her must-try cookies. Photo by GVLtoday
3/8If you’re looking for a sugar rush, we recommend sitting and sipping to make the most of the whipped cream, but taking to go is perfect for a walk through Falls Park. Photo by GVLtoday
4/8Available during brunch on Saturday + Sunday at the Augusta Street location, the Mexican chocolate is the hot chocolate you love but add a little bit of spice. Photo by GVLtoday
5/8This cup transported me back to snow days when Mom would make “fancy hot chocolate” on the stove. Photo by GVLtoday

7/8Sometimes hot chocolate is simply a vessel for marshmallows. Photo by GVLtoday
8/8This new coffee spot on Main Street is Instagrammable on its own (peep the cherry blossom trees when you visit), but do you see that pour? Photo by GVLtoday
