Greenville Federal Credit Union is expanding its footprint with the announcement of a brand-new, state-of-the-art branch coming to Berea, SC on Cedar Lane Road. The project marks the credit union’s first branch expansion in 19 years and reflects a long-term commitment to community investment and financial accessibility in Greenville County.

A long-awaited expansion

For years, members and residents have asked where the credit union would grow next. After careful consideration, Berea was selected due to its growing population, Opportunity Zone designations, and lack of nearby credit union access. Leaders say the goal is simple: bring trusted, community-focused financial services to an area that has been historically underserved.

Modern banking, community focused

The new branch will feature a full suite of modern amenities designed for convenience and comfort, including:

  • Drive-thru lanes and ATMs with cash deposits
  • Coin counting machine and safe deposit boxes
  • Complimentary coffee bar
  • Private offices for financial consultations

Investment in local growth

Beyond banking services, the project aims to revitalize Cedar Lane Road with improved sidewalks, underground stormwater systems, and updated landscaping. The development is also expected to create new jobs and attract additional investment to the Berea area.

Greenville Federal Credit Union leadership emphasized that the expansion reflects its mission to strengthen financial wellness, support local families, and provide accessible services in both English and Spanish.
