Experiencing a Greenville Triumph game

Table of Contents

Hey, GVL. Sarah here. I’m almost embarrassed to admit that it took me this long to get to a Greenville Triumph game. It’s been on my GVL bucket list for months. So a few weeks ago, I headed over to Legacy Early College Stadium to watch the Triumph play Lansing Ignite – and let me tell you, the experience left this producer chanting #TogetherWeTriumph.

Here’s what went down – and why you should #TryThis.

Experience:

Greenville Triumph game

What we tried (with pricing):

Starting 2 hours before the game, we stopped by Fan Fest (located in a lot right outside the stadium). The perfect place to bring the family, Fan Fest offers free activities like a gigantic inflatable soccer target game (for the kids or kids-at-heart) + live music. Food trucks were also available on-site with food and drinks for purchase. Don’t miss this part of going to a game.

Next, we headed to the stadium. Tickets start at just $10 – and keep an eye out for ticket specials. Bonus: Fans under 2 get in for free.

Don’t miss:

15 minutes before the game starts, keep your eyes on the field. Around this time, the Greenville Triumph convertible drives across the field to deliver the game ball. Pro tip: During the game the car is parked next to the field near the Main Gate Box Office on Bramlett Rd. (aka the perfect spot for a @gvltriumph selfie).

What we are still talking about:

If you want to get the full Greenville Triumph experience, you have to stop by the Reedy River Riot section. Don’t worry, you can’t miss them – they’re the group decked out in green with drums, flags, megaphones + a whole lot of hype. The Reedy River Riot is the team’s supporter group (that’s putting it lightly – these folks bleed green) and they show up to every game ready to chant, cheer + party.

We also stopped by the beer garden for a Sierra Nevada ($6). On a nice night, this open patio space is one of the best seats in the house. For dinner, we stopped by The Chip Shot Concession Stand for a hot dog and some boiled peanuts ($4 each). And for dessert? Shaved ice from Kona Ice.

How you can experience this:

If you’re ready to throw on your green gear and head to the stadium, you’re in luck. The Triumph still has 7 home games on the schedule for this year. The Greenville Triumph’s next home game is July 13 at 7 p.m. at Legacy Early College Stadium vs. Orlando City B.
