European grocery store chain will open 4 Greenville locations

WYFF
Lidl, a German discount grocery chain, will open 100 stores across the Southeast this summer. The first 20 of those stores will be in S.C., N.C. and Va., with S.C. nabbing 13 locations – Four stores in Greenville and two in Spartanburg.

Lidl is a direct competitor to Aldi, and is expected to rival Trader Joes and Harris Teeter, offering original, store-label products. No report yet on their ability to steer me away from my cookie butter cups.

The Greenville stores will be located on Wade Hampton Blvd. and Woodruff Rd. The Spartanburg locations are planned at East Main St. and Warren H. Abernathy Highway.
