Guess what’s back and better than ever? Radio Room — formerly located on Poinsett Highway — opened its doors at its new location across the street from the Fresh Market at 28 Liberty Ln. We chatted with owner Wes Gilliam about the new venue.

What’s new?

“It’s bigger and better,” Gilliam told us. “This venue has twice the capacity of the old one.” The original venue held ~200 people, and this one can hold ~500. The new space also offers:

  • A new back deck with seating
  • More parking
  • A bigger stage
  • More seating
  • New sound equipment for the bands
  • A stocked green room with a private bathroom

Tried and true

Fans shouldn’t fret, because the familiar favorites will still be there. You can still order your favorite snacks and drinks, play trivia on Mondays + do karaoke on Tuesdays (when there aren’t shows). You can also expect to see some of your favorite bands back-in-action.

You won’t be seeing any new faces behind the bar — almost all of the original staff stayed and will be working at the new spot.

“We’re happy to be in an ‘up-and-coming’ neighborhood. If you show up an hour before doors (open), there’s a record store right by us and there’s a vintage shop right by us. I’m just hoping for a tattoo shop,” Gilliam tells us.

Get ready to rock with Radio Rooms upcoming shows.
