You either love it, or you hate it, but back-to-school week is upon us. Greenville County Schools start back up this Thursday, Aug. 8, and your favorite City Editors are here with some tips and tricks to make going back to school a breeze.

Get plenty of rest

This goes for parents and kids. We know staying up late in the summer is a no-brainer, but make sure you change up your sleep schedule a few days before school starts.

Plan your outfits

Save yourself the time and heartache of waking up in the morning screaming “what am I going to wear?” by planning your outfits ahead of time.

Pack nutritious + delicious lunches

Both kids and adults feel the 2-3 p.m. slump, and you can counteract that by eating a healthy and nutritious lunch (think: high protein, low fat options).

City Editor Stephanie’s advice

“Find an extracurricular activity that you love and are passionate about. For me, it was theater. That’s where I found my tribe.”

City Editor Danielle’s advice

“Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Say ‘hi’ to a new friend, raise your hand in class, run for student council. You never know when it will open a door to a new opportunity for learning or friendship.”
