Greenville is in the red

Being “in the red” basically means that our city is one of the most difficult places to climb out of poverty.

While Greenville has historic job growth (unemployment is at an all time low) it lacks the infrastructure to support the youth who grow up here.

Enter: Greenville’s Network for Southern Economic Mobility Team. They connect people with opportunities in our community that support upward economic mobility for Greenville’s most disadvantaged youth.

Their strategy for Greenville is to change the conversation around economic mobility so that they can make the changes to transform the outcomes of the people who live here.

Their four step plan to 1. Educate and Equip, 2. Highlight Critical Policies 3. Listen and Share Stories and 4. Sustain Action will allow youth in Greenville to reach higher levels of success and improve Greenville’s trend on economic mobility.
