DIY home construction made simple by Clemson architects

WSPA
Clemson architecture students are making it possible for you to build your own house. Literally. “SimPly” is a new, low-impact construction kit that uses only pre-cut plywood and metal zip ties to build structures. It also comes with instructions, if you’re the type to read those.

The system is ideal for sustainable and affordable housing, as well as temporary and emergency (i.e. disaster relief) housing. It’s simple to construct and easy to take down or move.

“SimPly” structures can be seen IRL in Clemson and at Greenville’s Crop Stop Community Kitchen.
