Hold onto your hats: It’s rodeo time y’all

New this year, the World Champions Rodeo Alliance® (WCRA) brings Rodeo Carolina to Tryon International from October 6-8 for a competition between some of that nation’s best barrel racers, ropers, bull riders + more.

Some of the sport’s most decorated western athletes will take over the International Stadium as they go head-to-head in the richest rodeo east of the Mississippi.

Hold your horses, GVL — World Champions Rodeo Alliance’s (WRCA) Rodeo Carolina is bringing the best rodeo athletes to Mill Spring, NC this weekend for three days of competition at Tryon International.

Take the ~one hour drive for a thrilling showcase of rodeo talent, including:

  • Bareback riding
  • Women’s breakaway roping
  • Saddle bronc riding
  • Steer wrestling
  • Team roping
  • Tie-down roping
  • Barrel racing
  • Bull riding

On Saturday at noon, cheer on the sport’s up-and-coming superstars during the CEAT Division Youth Showcase in the International Stadium. Cowboy Church will be held on Sunday in Legends Plaza at 9:30 a.m. (pro tip: bring your own chair).

Saddle bronc rider Isaac Diaz, Part of the Triple Crown of Rodeo, is on the hunt for a $1 million purse and hoping to clinch his third consecutive title at Tryon International’s first-ever pro rodeo.
