“The sound of burning trees and understory echoed like a freight train, torching hundreds of acres nearly instantly.”

Those are the words Naturaland Trust Executive Director + National Geographic contributing photographer Mac Stone wrote about his experience alongside first responders at the Table Rock fire. He’s documenting their around-the-clock work to construct firebreaks and contain the flames.

“My goal is for people to know how responders are working full-time,” Stone tells us.

Many of you have asked how you can help those fighting the Table Rock fire. The Upcountry History Museum says it is collecting eye drops, sinus wash solution, batteries + bandanas. Do you know of any other local groups helping? Let us know so we can help spread the word.
