We know you’ve been waiting for the scoop on the new Clare’s Creamery, and we’ve got you.

Clare’s Creamery will open its second location at 1901 Laurens Rd. in Parkins Mill (near the future Taco Boy) on Wednesday, Aug. 30.

All of your favorite Clare’s flavors will be available, plus plans to scoop seasonal flavors just like its Overbrook location.

The new shop

Located cross from the future Taco Boy and next to the future Parlor Doughnuts, the new shop will be similar to its first location in Overbrook, with pastel pink, purple, and mint decor.

“We believe Clare’s will become a neighborhood destination for families and friends to gather together to celebrate all of life’s little (and big) moments,” says co-owner Caitlin Clare Hayes, who founded Clare’s Creamery with her husband, Michael, in 2020.

Apart from its Overbrook location, the Parkins Mill shop will feature more seating and a reservable “birthday booth” for special occasions. This may be our favorite feature with wallpaper designed by local artist Karen Schipper. You can try to identify all of the landmarks from Greenville and beyond as you eat your ice cream.

The ice cream

Of course, this new spot wouldn’t be complete without Clare’s hand-crafted ice cream, some of which are North American Ice Cream Association 2022 National Award Winners. The Honey Vanilla earned a White Ribbon and the Chocolate earned a Blue Ribbon — the highest award. Clare’s Honey Vanilla, Chocolate, 18 other staple flavors (including three dairy-free), and six rotating seasonal flavors will be scooped at both locations.

While you wait for the Parkins Mill Shop to open, you can find Clare’s Creamery at 1625 E. North St. Fun fact: The Clare’s Creamery trailer, bike, and cooler can be reserved for private events, so you can have ice cream at your wedding and eat it, too.

Scoop stats

Since it opened in 2020, Clare’s Creamery has:

  • Hand-crafted 27,125 gallons of ice cream
  • Added a cherry on top of 22,176 Sundaes
  • Spun 13,287 milkshakes
  • Served 2,858 Drumsticks
