Congratulations are in order for Carl Sobocinski of Table 301. Why? Carl was recently awarded the Order of the Palmetto.

The Order of the Palmetto is considered South Carolina’s highest civilian honor + recognizes the recipient’s contributions to the State. The first Order of the Palmetto was awarded to Gov. John C. West in 1971. Other recipients of this award include Darius Rucker, Darla Moore, and Pat Conroy.

Carl Sobocinski’s impact on South Carolina, especially the Upstate, is hard to ignore. Between co-founding euphoria (celebrating its 15th year), one of the south’s best food festivals, and founding Table 301 restaurant group, which includes local faves like Soby’s New South Cuisine, The Lazy Goat, Nose Dive, Passerelle Bistro, Highway 301 Food Truck, Southern Pressed Juicery, and Table 301 Catering & Kitchen, we feel like we eat at one of his restaurants at least once a week.

Carl’s work with Table 301 doesn’t just stop at feeding Greenville foodies. Over15 years, Table 301 has contributed more than $1.2 million to different nonprofits and causes in Greenville.

From opening his first Greenville restaurant in the mid-90s – The 858 – to present day, we can thank Carl Sobocinski for the impact he’s had on our state and our city. Congrats, Carl. Greenville would be a lot less tasty without the work you’ve done.
