City Council will debate approving an ordinance that bans displaying any type of flag, banner or sign in parking garages. The change comes after the incident that took place during the NCAA tournament this spring, where the confederate flag was flown in the parking garage across from the NCAA March Madness games.
This will ensure a similar incident doesn’t happen when Greenville hosts the women’s regional tournament in 2020 and the first two rounds of March Madness in 2022.
Next, the City Council will vote on the initial approval Monday.
