Get ready GVL… for all of those bemoaning the lack of ‘que on the level with Lewis, Home Team or Fox Bros, S.B.H. will be open in September at 5021 Pelham Road (yep, right across the street from Top Golf).

Todd Smith has crisscrossed the country competing at Kansas City Barbeque Society events and won in excess of 10 Grand Champions. He’s currently ranked 15th in the world and his specialty is Texas-style brisket, that means sliced people.

Smith will hang up his competition spurs for a bit to open the brick and mortar restaurant along with his wife, Jan, and is excited to offer competition barbeque in a restaurant setting. The 75-seat dining room and patio will offer St. Louis style ribs, brisket, pulled pork, chicken, house sausage, loaded beans affectionately called SOB Beans, the expected sides and three magical house sauces. Meats will be sliced in front of you and samples will be plentiful.

I’m so ready for a S.B.H. half-pound Brisket Burger (it’s ground brisket points seasoned for 24 hours and hand-pattied). It’ll be offered on Fridays only and you’ll see me there.
