They say reading can transport you to wherever you want to go. Well, M. Judson is taking that idea a bit further with Camilla Compass & Map, a custom travel company with a literary bent. With a handful of trips per year planned around beloved books, they’re looking to really get inside the story of the places they visit.

The club launched in January 2018, hosting their first trip to New Orleans last February. (Check out some of the books that inspired them for that one.) They planned their next trip to Nantucket, where – like all their trips— participants got to talk to writers, tour museums, eat + drink, and explore the experiences that reflect what they’re reading.

Does this sound like your dream vacation? Good news: There’s still time to sign up for Camilla Compass & Map’s next trip to Chicago. Here are all the details:

  • Dates: October 3-7, 2019
  • Cost: $1,995/person. $500 deposit (refundable by August 8) to reserve your spot.
  • Lodging: The Publishing House, a stunning bed + breakfast converted from a 1909 publishing house where all the rooms are named for famous writers. 😍
  • Food + drink: Chicago specialties like beef sandwiches + deep dish pizza, top-shelf tacos, a night out at Girl and the Goat + cocktails inspired by the books you’ll be reading.
  • Spots available: 20, with a min. participation of 14 people. (Participants should wait to purchase plane tickets until receiving confirmation that the minimum has been met.)
  • What’s included: Lodging, most meals, plenty of cocktails, all activities, books + transportation around Chicago. Travel costs to + from Chicago are not covered in the cost of the trip.
