You might recognize the school’s scenic campus or know its reputation for strong academics – but do you really know what Christ Church Episcopal School has to offer? Here are 5 things you probably didn’t know about CCES:

  1. It’s an international hub. The Upstate is quickly becoming a business mecca for professionals of all nationalities – and CCES is the only German-Bavarian school in the U.S., meaning the school has a tight relationship with BMW (German native speakers even have their own program). The newest class of 130 Primer (5K) + 1st-grade students represents 10 native languages spoken beyond English and 26% foreign national students.
  2. They strongly emphasize safety. CCES’s campus is not only gorgeous, but has the same layout + size as a small college campus, so they put a big emphasis on safety: the school is gated with one central entrance; Campus Security Officers (CSOs) are on duty 24/7/365; and the Security Team boasts a combined 75 years in law enforcement. CSOs also provide safety escorts to students, athletes, faculty, staff + visitors on campus in the evening hours.
  3. Learning happens on an individual level. CCES’s Achievement Center works with students K-12, faculty, and families to identify a student’s strengths + weaknesses and lead each student to a love of learning by understanding how that student learns best.
  4. There are tons of cross-divisional learning opportunities – for example, K5 students can help biology students with planting the school’s tower garden, and reading buddies in other grades can help smaller ones succeed. It’s all about collaboration + learning from one another.
  5. Primers = the school’s K5 students, who study everything from Spanish and computer skills to art, music + health. The program sets children up early for success, and means each student starts their Cavalier journey strong. Learn more about Primers here.

These are just a few ways Christ Church Episcopal School can give your child a leg up. Wondering what else you still don’t know? The school’s K-12 Open House on March 21 (this Thursday, 9:30 a.m. + 6 p.m.) will answer your questions. Register here – and make sure to take notes.
