We asked you what you want to know about this year and y’all gave us a ton of questions to look into. Here are a few we’ve found answers to so far. Have a question for us? Leave it in a comment below.

Asked: What’s the oldest… (church, building, house, etc.)?

Answered: The oldest home is the Earle Town House on James street (circa 1810). The oldest church is (no surprise here) Christ Church Episcopal (1854). The oldest neighborhood is the Hampton-Pinckney Historic District (homes date from 1890 - 1930). The oldest commercial building is Larkin’s on the River, which was a former blacksmith building + built in 1857. The building was created by Gower, Cox + Markley Company, who was the largest coach manufacturer south of the Potomac). The company’s paint shop building is now our iconic Wyche Pavilion.

Asked: Any prospects for more airlines and/or more flights out of GSP in 2018?

Answered: There are always discussions with airlines about bringing expanding options, but no plans to announce right now. Thanks to Rosilyn Weston for answering.

Asked: How many breweries are in Greenville County?

Answered: 10. Plus a few others (like Tetrad, Liability Brewing, and Think Tank Brew Lab) are expected to be under construction/open this year. 🍻

Asked: Do you know the status of the property immediately behind the Whole Foods shopping center, just off Woodruff Rd? It was formerly a textile plant, I believe, and has been cleared, but seems to just be sitting of late.

Answered: The space is currently part of a new apartment complex, but an assisted living community will soon be calling it home too.
