What is Greenville planning to do with the extra money?

Well, there really isn’t any extra money. The City Council is poised to give initial approval tonight for the budget, which includes some minor increases to garbage/sewer fees to help fund sewer rehabilitation projects.

Some large projects included for the upcoming year are: the signature city park, $3 million to improve neighborhood parks, $15 million to transform the Greenville Zoo, and $5 million towards a new downtown parking garage.

Some smaller initiatives: new trolleys, new sidewalks, street resurfacing, and the remaining money needed to complete a Woodruff Road connector road by the end of the year will be allocated.

Basically, any surplus from the budget will go to other projects that help improve our awesome city.
