Stone Avenue is getting a facelift

Stone avenue closure

Provided by North Main Community Association

Stone Avenue between Wade Hampton Boulevard + Column Street is closed between 8 p.m. – 6 a.m. tonight + possibly tomorrow night, in preparation of the new Northpointe development. The mixed-use complex will include a Harris Teeter, commercial spaces, apartments and a parking garage. It will face Stone Avenue and back up to Wade Hampton Blvd.

The City of Greenville has invested $2.8 million to make public improvements in the roadway, pedestrian access, street lighting and landscaping on all three sides of the developments,” according to City Council member Amy Ryberg-Doyle.

Road construction is expected to finish later this year, while construction of the complex is set to begin by the beginning of 2018, and open by Summer, 2019.
