Christmas Tree Recycling

Some of you probably aren’t quite ready to let the holidays go yet – and that’s totally okay. But if you are ready to have a clear living room, our city + county have made it pretty easy to dispose of your tree and help the environment.

Here’s what you need to do:

1⃣️ Prepare your tree:

Remove all lights, tinsel + ornaments from the tree

Remove tree from stand

Remove tree from bag + remove any string, wire or ties before drop-off

Drop off trees + metal-free garland only – no wreaths (these typically have metal on them)

2⃣️ If you live within Greenville City limits, simply place your tree (minus ornaments + lights) on the curb on your regular pick-up day. City workers will take care of it.

Or you can take your tree to one of four drop-off locations:

🎄 Holmes Park (Twin Lake Road & Holmes Drive)

🎄 Timmons Park (Oxford Street & Blackburn Street)

🎄 Gower Park (Laurel Creek Lane & Laurens Road)

🎄 West Greenville Community Center (8 Rochester St.)

These locations are open through late January.

Trees will be turned into mulch at the Twin Chimneys Landfill.

3️⃣ You can recycle all that wrapping paper (except foil-lined), too. It can be recycled at the curb + at these locations:
♻️ City’s Stone Avenue Recycling Center at 800 East Stone Ave.
♻️ North Greenville Recycling Center at 514 Rutherford Rd.
