Police are starting a new initiative called “Operation Southern Shield” on Monday in South Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee.

The goal is to lower the number of summertime traffic accidents and deaths by seeking out drivers who are speeding, impaired, distracted and not wearing seat belts. Summer is generally a busier time on the roads because people are out traveling more.

Be safe out there + expect to see a lot more cop cars around the roads. 🚔
