The Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas (RMHCC) serves as a place for families to be close to sick or critically injured children to spend time and meals together. It also provides transportation, if necessary, and other support at its location on Grove Road across from the Greenville Health System Children’s Hospital.

Since 1989 when RMHCC opened, GHS Children’s Hospital has more than doubled its number of beds and increased its team of pediatric specialists and since many of the families who stay at RMHCC have children being treated at GHS, RMHCC saw the need to expand their facility. RMHCC also works with the Shriners Hospital for Children and Bon Secours St. Francis Health System.

In 2015, RMHCC started a campaign called Building Hope to help fund the 17,500 sq ft addition with 12 new guest rooms, a family library, a commercial-sized kitchen, an outdoor patio + playground, laundry facilities, a parent fitness room, an elevator, and more.

Construction is expected to be completed in spring 2018.
