The City of Greenville made some major moves lately, by giving initial approval of a new entryway to Falls Park via the proposed Grand Bohemian Hotel site and in their announcement of the new public plaza in the Village of West Greenville.

One Grand Entrance
The parent company of the Grand Bohemian Hotel, Kessler Enterprise Inc., just received initial approval (and potentially $3.5M) from the City of Greenville for a new entrance into Falls Park, which will sit beside the new hotel.
This would replace the current parking lot between the Wyche law firm + the red “gumby” looking statue. Just imagine that old parking lot as a flat, lush, grassy space that could host outdoor events, and even small concerts.

But first, Kessler Enterprise Inc. needs to purchase the Wyche law firm property by the first quarter of 2018. This means we could be enjoying the new public space by at least March of 2019 (if the Bohemian is completed by December, 2019).👌

Welcome to the Village

A new 5,000-sqaure-foot plaza will be open in October in the Village of West Greenville. It will be free + open for public use. 🙌

“The Village of West Greenville is fortunate to have an eclectic mix of small businesses, ranging from artist studios to restaurants, as well as a very active business association,” said Tracy Ramseur, the City’s development coordinator.

The plaza, which will be situated between the Anchorage and Community Journals (and our office), off of Pendleton Street, will be adorned with string lights, local art pieces, one-of-a-kind cast iron light poles, and a new Village of West Greenville sign (funded by a $3,000 Placemaking Micro-Grant from the Greater Greenville Association of Realtors).
