We’re one week out, people.

We’re officially one week away from the Total Solar Eclipse, and after this mornings press conference with Greenville’s Chief of Police, Ken Miller, here’s what you need to know leading up to the big day:

🚗 Traffic could likely be gridlocked, so plan on arriving to your eclipse party super early (also, Uber will probably be like 10X)

📱Cell service will be limited. If you’re downtown, it will likely be similar to crowds at Fall for Greenville (all city and county hotels are booked), so let your friends and family know where you’ll be ahead of time. Don’t rely on texting while downtown to meet up.

📸 Don’t plan to livestream the Eclipse on Facebook, Instagram, or anywhere else. Not only will it likely not work, but the police department is asking this as to not take up data for people who may need it for public safety.

🚔 Download the Greenville PD app, where live updates on crowds, parking, road closures, etc. will be pushed out.

🏙 There will be no parking on the roofs of downtown parking garages (starting this weekend) and only 600 people will be allowed on rooftop parking decks for viewing the eclipse (first come, first serve).

🌘We’ll try and keep you updated on the day of from Roper Mountain Science Center and don’t forget that there are still tickets available for their Saturday and Sunday Eclipse Extravaganza.
