So you’re engaged. Now what? Pinterest can only hold your ideas, not follow through with them.
You actually have to plan the wedding. This can be super overwhelming – whether you have some idea of what you want or not. You may have an idea of the catering budget and venue you like (but not be aware the venue requires you to use their caterers…). You may want a decorated cake for display and then have the caterers make cupcakes for the guests to actually eat (but not realize the cake baker isn’t very happy about this…).
Enter: My Wedding Group (to the rescue, amirite?). This is literally “Your One Stop Wedding Shop” with the best vendors from the Upstate + a complimentary sit down with their wedding consultant to review your Pinterest board. #👰goals
So where do you start? After checking out the scene with Logan and his fiancee recently, we *all* learned that the biggest hurdle to tackle first is the budget, which breaks down like this:
Based on a $30,000 budget and an average cost of vendors booked on weddings within this budget, with a 100 person guest count, averages are as follows:
- Venue/Catering/Bar = 36%
- Photography = 14%
- Planner/Coordinator = 12%
- Flowers/Décor = 9%
- Attire = 8%
- DJ Entertainment/Ceremony Music = 8%
- Photo booth/Favors/Misc = 5%
- Stationary/Postage = 3%
- Cake = 2%
- Hair and Make-up = 2%
- Officiant = 1%
*Depending on weighted importance, the couple can weigh less in a certain category to add more to another category.
After you get the budget squared away, the venue wall provides photos and info on 17 recommended venues within an hour’s driving distance – 5 of the venues are right in downtown Greenville. The My Wedding Group team will reach out to these places (or another if you don’t choose one from the wall) and ask all the questions you need to know answers to (plus some you probably didn’t even think of). But you kinda need to choose the venue before moving on to anything else – but don’t worry, they will help you during every. single. step.
