It’s not all box jumps + burpees

Beast Mode YMCA, workout

Chances are you (+ plenty of other people) have big plans to make 2018 better than 2017: Lose weight/get fit, eat healthy, get more sleep.

The hardest part of keeping a resolution, though, is keeping it. The best way to solve that is to work out with a group – the group will hold you accountable + challenge you to be better and stronger every time.

Enter: Beast Mode at the YMCA of Greenville, a high-intensity training class developed by ACSM and the Y’s CrossFit certified trainers.

Don’t be intimidated by the words “high-intensity” though. I tried this class out at the Publix Outdoor Fitness Area (shout out to Publix Charities to the grant to make this space amazing) at the Eastside Family YMCA and it was manageable – a *really* good workout where I was sore for a couple days but nothing I couldn’t handle. It helps a lot to have people encouraging you to get those 20 knees-to-elbows finished.

As you’re considering options for getting (or staying) healthy in 2018, include Beast Mode in the list. It’s not all box jumps + burpees it’s about getting involved in a fitness community that cares about your well-being.

Bonus: Check out Beast Mode – Greenville Health System YMCA + Beast Mode – Eastside Family YMCA + Beast Mode - Caine Halter Family YMCA groups on Facebook.
