You’ve heard of Little Free Libraries, but what about Little Free Pantries?

You’ll find them near churches, schools, and in people’s front yards — offering neighbors in need a simple way to grab essentials, no questions asked. Modeled after the Little Free Library concept, each pantry is maintained by community members.

GVLtoday reader Beth B. maintains a list of locations. You’ll also find a list of items needed to fill the boxes.

“Blessing Boxes add another layer of community connection,” Beth writes. “A quiet reminder that generosity doesn’t always need a system to make a difference.”

News Notes

Mansion Monday

Welcome to 28 Sunset Dr. — a 5,200-sqft Augusta Road home exuding Southern charm. The curb appeal is thanks, in part, to the double porches and copper lanterns. Gather around the 12-ft walnut island in the chef’s kitchen or explore the home’s four bedrooms, six bathrooms, and four fireplaces, with designer touches throughout.

Edu

The Greenville County Schools application window for school choice options opens today. See what programs are offered across the district and their deadlines.

Ranked

No. 60. That’s where Greenville landed on US News & World Report’s list of the 250 best places to retire — down from No. 30 last year, due to new ranking methods. It’s still the top-ranked city in SC and third in the Southeast (outside Florida).

This year’s honorees include Jessica Satava, Kate Dabbs, Greenville Women Giving, Katy Pugh Smith, Damon Qualls, Shriners Children’s Greenville, and Mayor Knox White.

With $150 million currently being invested in Greenville’s live music ecosystem, our city is poised to become a destination for fans across genres.

That figure is straight from President & CEO of Greenville City Economic Development Corporation Sam Konduros. Here’s how it breaks down:
After some delays, Trueline is finally taking shape and expects to open in 2026. The final piece of the steel structure — which we got to sign — went into place at the end of October.
