It’s official: “Top Chef” has started filming in the Carolinas. According to our sources, production details are on lock and cloaked in secrecy — but we have good news. Former “Top Chef” Cheftestants, “Chopped” Champions, and other chefs who’ve shown off their skills on the screen will be in town for euphoria.

Chef T

“Yes Chef,” “Big Restaurant Bet” + “Hell’s Kitchen” (twice)
This chef can be found at Aged to Perfection, Party in the Park (sold out), The Brunch Club (sold out), and Feed Your Soul (sold out).

Katsuji Tanabe

“Yes Chef,” “Top Chef,” “Bobby’s Triple Threat,” “Chopped,” “Beat Bobby Flay” + “Cooking Under Fire”
My spiciest bite from euphoria 2024 was from this Raleigh chef, so it’s fitting that you’ll find him at Bubbles & Bold Flavors.

Orchid Paulmeier

“The Next Food Network Star” + “BBQ Brawl: Flay v. Chauhan v. Lofaso”
Another euphoria favorite, this Lowcountry chef is serving up at Party in the Park (sold out), Local Roots & Ocean Treasures (sold out), and Sunday’s Feast by the Field. Pro tip: Locals get $15 off tickets to Feast by the Field on Sunday with a local billing address.

Stephan C. Baity

“Holiday Cake Wars” + “Halloween Wars”
This local chef isn’t just cooking, he’s carving as a self-taught food artist — and you’ll find him at Aged to Perfection.

No one wants to think about menopause. The thought of facing another round of intense hormonal changes as a mature woman is daunting, especially if you’re not sure what to actually expect.

The good news? You don’t have to figure it all out alone.

Tonight, Aug. 26, gain valuable perspective at “Navigating Hormonal Changes Together: Early Menopause and Menopause Insights,” hosted by Biltmore Restorative Medicine’s Dr. Ibrahim at Palmetto Olive Oil Co.

The interactive event is designed to help women (+ their partners) to enter the next phase of life empowered and supported. Reserve a seat to join the information session and discussion on:

  • Managing symptoms
  • Understanding hormone health
  • Making confident decisions about your well-being.

Dr. Ibrahim is a member of The Menopause Association Advisory Board, and has decades of experience in women’s healthcare.

Bonus: All attendees score a $250 credit toward qualifying professional services at Biltmore Restorative (excluding Botox + filler treatments).

News Notes

Opening

Mayberry Park (at Unity Park) will celebrate its opening with a ribbon cutting on Thursday, Aug. 28. The home to the new Little League baseball field originally opened in 1925 as the city’s only park for Black children during segregation. (Greenville Journal)

The Wrap

Today’s edition by: Danielle

We can only assume “Top Chef” is in Charlotte to kick things off, and my friend Maria at CLTtoday is giving us a peek behind-the-scenes at what the Cheftestants will experience. She spoke with Season 22 winner Chef Tristen Epps (who went to culinary school in Charlotte) + “Chopped” champion Chris Coleman, who — as mentioned above — will also be at euphoria this year.
