On a home-buying journey? Don’t forget to budget for closing costs.

Typically ranging from 2% to 5% of your home’s purchase price, closing costs — which are not included in your down payment — pay for third-party services like the lender application, appraisal, and inspection, among other common fees.

Pro tip: When you apply for a mortgage loan with Greenville Federal Credit Union, they can calculate your estimated closing costs.

    Answered

“It’s not the heat — it’s the humidity.”

That’s the most popular Southern phrase our readers use to politely complain about the heat, and we’re guessing it’s been said more than a couple of times during this heatwave.

We asked for your other go-to complaints, and here were a few of our favorites:
    • “It’s so hot, our lawn is crispy.”
    • “It’s too hot to fish.”
    • “Nothing but a screen door between this heat and hell.”
    Got a hot take?

    The Wrap

It’s so hot, the sky is on fire. Did any of you see the fireball in the sky around noon yesterday? I’ve been following the developments as WYFF 4 shares new photos and videos.
