Meet the winners of Greenville’s speediest art competition
Presented by Metropolitan Arts Council
This year’s FOUP winners were announced during a celebration on Saturday, June 14. | Photos by GVLtoday
In just 24 hours, 100+ local artists created original works for Flat Out Under Pressure (FOUP), a one-of-a-kind juried competition blending the visual arts and environmentally-friendly practices.
The eight winners, announced during last weekend’s reception and awards ceremony at the Metropolitan Arts Council, earned cash prizes and the opportunity to display their work on downtown recycling bins. Psst... The new art will be installed by March 2026.
Where to admire the art
To support FOUP artists and see what they created in record time, you can:
Visit the MAC Gallery now through Friday, July 11 to view the exhibition and purchase art. Admission is free.
Stroll through downtown to admire art on recycling bins from last year’s winners. Hint: Start at Fluor Field and head toward Mast General Store.
Post photos on social media + tag the artists and @macartscouncil.
Bonus: Join MAC’s scavenger hunt — instructions are in the gallery — for a chance to win $300 toward an art purchase.

Pop the popcorn. A rooftop cinema could become part of County Square. Based on the renderings, it’s proposed for the top of the development’s parking garage.
It appears to be similar to the Rooftop Cinema Club in LA, Miami, Chicago, and New York. The project requires a special exception permit from the city’s Board of Zoning Appeals. Before it can get there, developers of the $1 billion redevelopment will share the plans at the City of Greenville’s Project Preview Meeting on Tuesday, June 24.
Click the button below for the full list of confirmed tenants and the timeline developers shared with us for completing some of these buildings.

I’m checking an item off my Greenville bucket list this weekend: I’m catching a Greenville Drive game from the Green Monster.
It’s also my first time watching the team play in their Black Spinners uniforms, a tribute to the Negro League team and those who paved the way for baseball in our city.
