People and their pups will parade proudly through downtown for a two-mile run (or walk, if you prefer) benefiting the Greenville Humane Society.
What else is there to do?
Enjoy live music, caricature artists and face painters, and free pizza from Papa Johns. After the race, there will be a Mutt Market Festival + an after pawty.
How can my mutt and I sign up?
You can register for the race until Friday, April 25 for $40 per person. Pro tip: You can also donate through the Greenville Humane Society.
How can I help?
If you have a mutt that doesn’t want to strut, you can volunteer at the event. The Mutt Strut is currently looking for folks to put up “no parking” signs + water distributors and course marshalls.

Girl Up GVL has the scoop on how to make a difference. | Photo by Girl Up GVL
Since 2019, local nonprofit Girl Up GVL aims to help young girls “develop a sense of self while discovering their unique gifts and talents.” In honor of Women’s History Month, let’s learn a little more about the organization.
What they do
Girl Up GVL helps young women have “positive, formative experiences” that help shape their futures. It’s program aims to help girls reach their highest potential.
How they do it
By offering middle school, high school, and in-school programs, staff + volunteers are able to implement structured routines, regular assistance, and positive experiences for young women.
Some of the programs include:
Summer camps
Individual success planning
Weekly enrichment classes
After school activities
Summer internship opportunities
How you can help
Girl Up GVL accepts donations + you can sign up to be a volunteer. The organization is currently seeking tutors, career hosts, and mentors.
Channel your inner Rosie the Riveter because, “You can do it.”
Similarly to Hurricane Helene, it warms my heart to see so many Greenvillians stepping up to help out their neighbors. You all prove to me time and time again why living here is so special.
