Did you know that only ~51.8% of SC residents were born in the state? Recent transplants have moved en masse from New York, California, North Carolina, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
Newcomers Club of Greater Greenville is a membership-based club for folks who have lived in Greenville under two years. The main focus is finding friendship in a new city (although a few members have also made business connections).
How do you join?
First, you have to attend a meeting + dues are $40 annually. There’s no official application process, but they’ll ask some questions like when you moved here, how long have you lived here, your birthday, etc.

8. That’s how many Upstate farmers The Travelers Rest Farmers Market is working with after Hurricane Helene through the Travelers Rest Farmers Market Farmer Fund. The fund has been active since October 2023 + the money was being used for two grants, but after Helene, funds will help farmers rebuild what they lost. (Upstate Business Journal)
