A 20-unit multifamily development is planned for ~2 acres at 704-722 E. McBee Ave., with units starting at $1.4 million.
According to the designs, “The McDaniel” will feature four stories with rooftop terraces, two-car garages, 2-3 BR, and flex space for offices or home fitness.

Developers say this is a lower-density development option than what could be put on this land.
The developers also mentioned plans for a phase two, but the number of units and timeline for expansion has not been decided.
The plans go before the City of Greenville’s Planning Commission on Thursday, April 20. They hope to begin construction this summer, and it’s expected to take 18 months to build.

Did you know? In 2022, 20.4 million people in the US were diagnosed with substance use disorders, and of that number, only about 10% received treatment.
Greenville Transitions Recovery Center provides a premier, local option for addiction treatment. Breaking away from the traditional model, they focus on holistic solutions. The founders believe recovery is about more than just getting sober — it’s about building a new lifestyle to stay sober. The facility’s staff works to ensure that each client is building new habits and passions to adapt to the new lifestyle of their choice.
Executive Director David McNease (10 years sober) says, “Through our own experiences we realized that a key part of recovery is missing in standard outpatient treatment. To inspire healing, we need to provide the skills needed for a fulfilling lifestyle.”
Beginning with a no-cost consultation, the staff then creates a customized treatment plan based on personal goals, scheduling, and financial options. Whether it’s through adventure therapy, peer support, family group, or any of the other services offered, individuals are then matched with the program best suited for them.
“If you or someone you love is struggling with substance use, reach out to one of our dedicated staff. When you’re ready, we’re here,” says McNease.*
The Greenville Gateway development is on hold until June after Greenville’s Design Review Board (DRB) “hit the pause button.” The plans would transform the old Greenville Memorial Auditorium site near Bon Secours Wellness Arena into an entertainment district with residential units, retail, and restaurants. The DRB approved a 10-story mixed-use development at 319 Rhett St. Featuring 245 multifamily units and 5,000 sqft of retail space, the development also boasts a hotel with 154 rooms, a café, and rooftop restaurant.
Keeping with more DRB news, the 19-story tower at 301 College St. was approved. The structure will frame the Canvas Tower along the cultural corridor with 264 market-rate apartments and 2,000 sqft of retail space.

I’m excited to taste The Jones Oyster Co.'s cocktail “Bespoken For,” and it’s not just because they made a subtle Taylor Swift reference in their Instagram caption promoting the drink, though that didn’t hurt.
