Before we begin April, we’re here to pay homage to the best things we saw this March. (#ProTip: read now for icebreakers for the next patio networking event you’re at, now that it’s officially spring.) This month, our readers got hyped about weekend brunch, plastic bags, a proposed development along the Reedy River, + more.

Top Conversation: Would a plastic bag fee work in GVL?
Greenville City Councilman Russell Stall is floating the idea of placing fees on plastic bags, to prevent the bags from floating in the city’s waterways. Our readers made some very strong points in the comments section for both sides of the topic.

Reader Wendy H. suggested: “Perhaps a multi-pronged approach would work? Reward positive behavior – give consumers a credit of 5 cents for each bag they bring? Charge those who don’t…. If the “government” collects the fee, be transparent about how much is collected and where it is going. Set goals. Make it fun!”
