Save the date. Ice Cream for Breakfast Day is right around the corner, Saturday, Feb. 3.

First celebrated in the 1960s when a Rochester, NY family ate ice cream for breakfast during a blizzard, the informal holiday aims to “liven up the first weekend of February with something silly and sweet.”

Here in Greenville, you can celebrate with a scoop, sundae, or pint from one of these sweet spots:

Clare’s Creamery , Multiple locations

Opening at 9 a.m., bring the family for breakfast-inspired ice cream flavors, sundaes in Clare’s mugs, plus coffee from Bridge City Coffee so you still get your morning cup o’ joe.

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream , 12 E. Broad St., #6B, Greenville

Opening at 9 a.m., there will be breakfast flavors like Balanced Breakfast — a delicious mix of banana french toast, coffee with cream + sugar, and darkest chocolate in a french toast waffle bowl. Jeni’s encourages you to wear your pj’s.

Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery , 205 Cedar Lane Rd.

Get soft-serve ice cream from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. ($1 off if you wear your jammies), sip on vanilla affogatos from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., and get $1 off pints of Jeni’s ice cream from the grocery.
