DYK: It is perfectly legal (in hockey) for a puck to be played out of mid-air by a player whose stick is above his shoulders? The Swamp Rabbits have the Hockey 101 you need to know *before* the game + we have all the pro tips to make the best of game day.
- For the best seats, check out the seating chart. Our favorite seats are the ones right behind the opponent’s goalie (but look out for flying pucks if you are close to the ice). Consider getting stacked seats instead of a row for your family. For example, instead of purchasing tickets for seats 1-6 in row A, try seats 1-3 in both rows A & B.
- Show up hungry, especially if you plan to go to Hoppy Hour (5 – 8 p.m.) for meatball sliders and mac + cheese bombs. Bring cash.
- Going to the game in a group and want a photo on the ice? Check out their awesome package deal.
- Make someone’s night even more special by submitting a song request (happy birthday included) here.
- Dress in warm layers – it can be quite chilly inside hockey arenas, especially near the ice. Blankets are often allowed (team colors even better) or pick up a sweatshirt from the Hop Shop. Consider protective ear-wear for babies and young kids – it gets pretty loud sometimes.
- There are specials + discounts nearly every night of the week, from $5 kids meals to 2 for $20 tickets on Tuesday/Thursdays.
- Use bathrooms during off-peak periods to avoid long lines.
Have some more tips we didn’t think of? (We admit – we don’t know it all.)
