This summer, Greer’s downtown will get a makeover. The city is helping to fund a streetscape improvement project that will update Greer Station’s facades + visual appeal, bringing in more shoppers and visitors and boosting the economy at the same time.

$500,000 will go towards lighting, resurfacing + parking lot improvements by the middle of this year. Greer is also partnering with the Greenville County Redevelopment Authority Facade Improvement Program, which will bring in $150,000 for businesses who apply to make their own exterior changes.

Applicants would normally get $5,000 each, but Greer is matching the money from the Facade Improvement Program for a total of up to $10,000. 💸 The funds could go towards projects like updating business signs, outdoor lighting, + fencing; new exteriors (like repairs for tile + brick) or total facade redesign; and restoration of historic features.
