Yesterday, we wrote an article about all of the amazing “fast-casual” restaurants we had experienced all over the United States, but weren’t able to find here in Greenville. We opened up the conversation to you, our readers and asked which ones you thought would help Greenville step it’s fast-casual restaurant game up, and oh did you deliver. Check out some of the responses we got in our inbox yesterday below.

Thanks again to all of our amazing readers and don’t forget to add in your own suggestion over on our Instagram page.

  • Love this article about fast casual options! I also miss these types of restaurants. You forgot Tokyo Joe’s and Wahoo Fish Taco! My faves in Denver - Nicole Burns
  • Completely agree with ‘fast casual eats’. The best eats here are small business restaurants that are the best, food and experience but have to keep focused on their target market. The larger chains on Main Street and elsewhere deliver mediocre results, food and experience, and target everything. This article is right on. - Brad Smith
  • I’m from the Carolinas, however, I have to say that my favorite place in the world to eat is Moonlight Diner on Tower Road in Denver, not far from your Fort Collins.
Great place: great food: great bar. Place makes me feel like I’m in an episode of Northern Exposure, and, that is a big, big compliment. - Don Starnes
  • FYI – there are now 2 Shake Shacks in ATL now. Also, next time you are in ATL/Athens/Nashville check out Taqueria Del Sol – it is what I miss most food-related since we left ATL to move back to the upstate a couple of years ago. It recently made Thrillist’s list of top Mexican restaurants in the US and it is cheap and delish! Farm Burger in ATL and Asheville also rocks with some of the best burgers around (love love the chicken burger) ditto to Grindhouse Burgers from ATL and Athens. - Lori E. Jolly
  • In response to your fast casual dining options, I think White Duck Taco is a good start for a lunchtime option. There options under $10 and it’s fast!
For late night snacks, Universal Joint is a good stop. Their kitchen is open until 11p and there also a number of taco places too. I believe GVLtoday ran an article 2 weeks ago on some good locations. The one on Pleasantburg is open late. But I do agree we could use more. Cheers - Lori Saha
  • I really enjoyed the fast-casual lunch topic, I’m all for local joints but I agree we could use more, here are my suggestions:Pret A Manger (amazing fresh good food and they are conscious company, donating leftover food to shelters at the end of the day)
Protein Bar (similar to Happy + Hale)
Roti Modern Mediterranean (similar to Babaziki)
Au Bon Pain (great café style food, soups, salads, sandwiches)
Potbelly (great café style food, soups, salads, sandwiches)(also used to love Noodles & Co!)

I used to live in Chicago and miss those great fast casual lunch spots too! The problem here is location, if they are downtown, parking is tough to run in and grab if you work on one end of downtown and the lunch spot is just a touch too far to walk to, and if they are out further they aren’t servicing the downtown work crowd.

Hopefully, we get more options soon! – Missy Games

  • Oot’s, has 3 locations in Murfreesboro, TN (a college town), 1 in Smyrna, TN (my hometown) and 1 in Bowling Green KY. They have a $4.99 daily lunch special, that is always great! It is a fast casual/sports bar type place, but very family friendly, with kids eating for free!So wish we had something of this nature in Greenville. I would eat lunch there several days per week, and dinner a couple times per month.

We hit Toot’s first thing, every month when we go home to see our grandkids. - Terrance Logsdon

  • Thanks for the article on food. I totally agree! Another thing missing though is the gaping hole in vegan options. The Greenville market is ripe for that, and we don’t have much. We just ate at an all vegan place in Charleston called Gnome Cafe that rocks. We tried to convince the owner to franchise here. Please write about that and give your readers current options. Thanks and keep up the great work. - Brad Greer
  • I’m from Colorado too and if I had the funds I’d buy and start a Mad Greens here. Man I love that place!!!! - Sarah Curtis
  • Fast Casual is truly lacking in Greenville, especially along Augusta Street, it’s the same old tired places. I’m thrilled with Farm Fresh Fast and Happy + Hale, but agree it would be great to have some more options that are a good national chain.-Maki Fresh: awesome sushi and bowls, Birmingham and Atlanta
-Urban Cookhouse: Southern food is done well with healthy options. Birmingham and Columbia, SC, how can they have it in Columbia and not here??Good luck, try to get some of these places here! – Emily Busby
  • We need 4rivers bar-b-q!! They have expanded from Orlando to Jacksonville and Atlanta. I’m hopeful!! AMAZING Texas bar-b-q! - Emily S. Krall
  • You forgot Portillo’s! Chicago favorite! Been expanding and has made it to Florida.Gotta have it here!!Petition for it!
  • Voting YES!!!! For SNOOZE!!!!
  • Omg YES to canes, torchys and newks!! Literally the best. So hope they come to Greenville. – Molly Bozeman
  • Love Beau Jo’s! And, would love a Tokyo Joe’s!! – Morgan Eldridge
