We love everything about Greenville – from it’s people to the natural beauty – but there are always things that could make it even better.

We decided to ask y’all what you thought needed to be added to our backyard. Here are just a few of the 400+ things y’all have said our city is missing + what you would love to see come here.

“A nice, large community public pool located in a beautiful park that is reasonably priced for families. An example would be the Tanglewood pool in Clemmons, N.C.” – Shannon S.

“A good movie theatre with recliners!” – Jenny H.

“A section of town, permanently blocked-off to vehicles…” – Lynn A.

“An aquarium and a better zoo.” – Bill P.

“A fenced in dog park closer to downtown! We love Lake Conestee Nature Park’s dog park but it’s far away... it would be amazing to have a space allocated in Cleveland Park or nearby for all our dog loving Greenville residents!” – Sara D.

Unique architecture in our new buildings downtown.” – John B.

“From Ikea to an upscale mall. I come from Orlando where you have a choice of malls. Greenville only has one mediocre mall.” – Stacey F.

Sidewalks and public transportation. We need a way to get around safely without owning a car.” – Jeannette J.

“A really good Italian grocery store.” – Sharon K.

“A traditional English tearoom. – Sylvia B.

Tapas restaurant like Barcelona in Charlotte! Also, we really need a Dim Sum restaurant!

We have lots of Chinese restaurants, but not one just specializing in Dim Sum! A Portuguese restaurant would be fantastic!” – Luisa H.

Trader Joe’s downtown or any other grocery store downtown.” – Emmi K.

“A soup restaurant like Ladles in Charleston.” – Jordan F.

Permanent food truck courtyard- we saw this in several other cities.” – Ali H.

But maybe the best answer came from Christina F., who responded with this:

“Mainly, this question just made me so grateful to live in this wonderful town!”
