Greenville Police get new accessories

A year and a half after Gov. Nikki Haley signed S.47, the Body-Worn Cameras Worn By Law Enforcement Bill, Greenville County deputies will get their own body camera. The bill also stated that any data recorded by a body-worn camera was not subject to disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act.

Chest-mounted body cameras will be distributed to the Greenville County Police Department after they complete a two hour training course. The cameras and other technology upgrades for Greenville County deputies were purchased through grants.
