If you’re ever-curious like us, you’ve always wanted to see the inside of local artists’ studios – where the magic happens. ✨ Luckily, the 18th annual Greenville Open Studios tour happens this weekend in artists’ studio spaces within a 15-mile radius of downtown Greenville.

Taking place Saturday, Nov. 9 (10 a.m.-6 p.m.) + Sunday, Nov. 10 (12-6 p.m.) – with select studios open Friday, Nov. 8 from 6-9 p.m. – Greenville Open Studios invites the GVL community to take a peek into the lives of local artists at work in their studios. 🎨 The free, self-guided tour allows attendees to engage with the arts community, learn about artistic processes, and enhance or begin their art collections. Bonus: A free hefty dose of creative inspiration.

A project of the Metropolitan Arts Council (MAC), Open Studios is set to feature a record number of artists158, to be exact. Here’s a closer look at the event, by the numbers:

○ 102: Number of studio locations on the map this year

○ 158: Total participating artists this year

○ 25: New artists participating this year

○ 15: Miles from downtown GVL in which studios are located (spanning Easley, Simpsonville, Greer + Traveler’s Rest)

○ 2002: Year Greenville Open Studios began

○ 59: Artists who participated that first year

○ 479: The total number of artists who’ve participated since Open Studios’ inception

Plan your Greenville Open Studios weekend by downloading the app, designed for all devices, which provides a handy roundup of participating artists: who they are, where their studio is located (and whether its one of the select few open Friday) + their medium of choice – painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, etc. You can also grab The Catalogue (a print guide to the tour), in various retail locations or at MAC HQ + in the most recent issue of Greenville Journal.

See a sneak peek of some of the participating artists’ works at the Open Studios 12 x 12 Exhibit at the MAC Gallery (16 Augusta St.) on display now + open during Open Studios.

Our recommendation: Open the app’s interactive map now to favorite the studios you know you want to visit, then use it to navigate your way around this weekend. ⬇️
