Giving the Montgomery Building a facelift

WYFF 4
BF Spartanburg LLC closed on a deal to buy the Montgomery Building at the corner of E. St. John and N. Church streets in downtown Spartanburg. The plan is to renovate it to include apartments, a restaurant and office space, which will cost an estimated $29 million.

Construction on the exterior will begin next month and the idea is to bring back the 1920’s appeal of the building. Historic features will be preserved in compliance with federal guidelines.

72 one- and two-bedroom apartments will be built with high ceilings on the top seven floors of the 10-story building, ranging in price from $700 to $2,300 depending on size and location.

The second floor will hold over 11,000 square feet of office space on the second floor. Also, a 5,000 square-foot restaurant will be added into the first floor space. We can’t wait to see what it is.
